This is by far the most common “Cannot start Outlook” error generated by Outlook. For those of you who haven’t understood the “Cannot start Outlook” error mentioned here, just read on.
You get the following error message when you try to start Outlook
“Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?”
And obviously you will click on the “Yes” button; this gives you the following error message:
“No profiles have been created. To create a new profile, use the Mail icon in the Control Panel.”
Well, this is the “Cannot start Outlook” error that this article refers to.
Whatever you do to get rid of this error message just makes the “Cannot start Outlook” error produce more error messages. But then again, I wouldn’t be writing this article if I didn’t come up with a solution!
Ironically the “Cannot start Outlook” error is one that can be solved very easily. All you have to do is disable the compatibility mode for Outlook.
How to access the compatibility mode?
To rectify this “Cannot start Outlook” error, you have to access the compatibility tab. Right click on the Outlook shortcut icon and access the “Properties” option. In the “Properties” tab, navigate to the “Compatibility” tab. Now, to correct the”“Cannot start Outlook”” error, you are to make sure that none of the options on the compatibility tab are selected.
For a Windows 7 user, the Outlook icon will usually be in the taskbar. So as to access the “Properties” option, you have to right click on the icon. A menu pops up, right click again to find the “Properties” option.
That should be all the help you will need to correct the “Cannot start Outlook” error.
