Create a Global Address Book in Outlook 2007 with Outlook settings

Microsoft launched Office 2007 with a variety of features which include Outlook 2007. You can create address list to all versions of Outlook with proper Outlook settings. Outlook settings help you  add new email addresses to the address book, add other details like name, physical address, phone number etc.

If you are running an organization, an Outlook Exchange account is necessary. You can create a list of all employees with their name, emails, phone number and other details. With the help of Outlook settings, you can store these data to the exchange server. This list is called Global Address List. The Exchange administrator can control this list with certain Outlook settings.

With proper Outlook settings the administrator can add, remove or edit the list of Global address list. Sometimes, it takes too much time to make modification to these exchange objects. If all the Outlook settings are correct, you will be able to send messages very quickly to any user.

First, start Microsoft Outlook 2007, select the “Tools” menu, click “Account Settings” and then select the “Address Books” tab to see the option” New”. Now, select the “Internet Directory service (LDAP) option and click “Next.”Type the server name to connect to this list in the “Server Name” box.

Enter your password when prompted. You will see an option titled “More settings”. Select it and type the port number associated with this account under “Connection “Details.” Click the “Search“ tab to change the server settings and click “OK”, then  “Next” and click “Finish.” If Outlook settings are incorrect, the users in the domain will not be able to find the address list.

If you are unable to create the Global Address Book, you can avail the advanced Outlook settings. Online assistance is available for Outlook settings too.
